Decimals Debate

This lesson focuses on students’ ability to determine if there are flaws in a mathematical argument based on problems that involve adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals. Students will begin with a whole class discussion, then work in a small group, and lastly, work independently. The teacher will check for understanding during both the small group and independent work, as well as during the student self-reflection at the end of the lesson.
