Rain, Rain, Go Away!

This resource is intended to familiarize students with more than one informational source, a visual and a text source, from which they will select information that is pertinent to a central idea and supporting details. Students will read a text selection and view an image about rain, identifying the central idea and several relevant supporting details. This lesson should come after students have spent time practicing observation skills using frames such as “I notice . . . , I see . . . , I think . . . because . . . .”
