A Grain of Sand or a Drop of Water: Using details to help understand the main idea/research topic.

This lesson will help the student understand how selecting details from a text will help them understand the main idea. Students will be reading an informative text about erosion. Throughout this lesson, they will practice choosing the details that support the topic and further explaining how those details help them understand the main idea more clearly. This will be done in an “I DO,” “WE DO,” and “YOU DO” format, with the text on wind erosion being the last part (YOU DO) of the lesson.
