El Ciclo de Educación Básica, también conocido como Ciclo Básico y el Ciclo de Educación Diversificada, según la Ley Nacional de Educación, conforman el nivel de Educación Media. En el Ciclo Básico se atiende a la población estudiantil que egresa del nivel de Educación Primaria y la prepara para que continúe al Ciclo de Educación Diversificada o Ciclo Diversificado.
