Verb Voice: Active vs. Passive

Students will learn the difference between active and passive voice. They will understand why the passive voice is usually avoided and how the verb voice makes a difference in a reader’s understanding of a text.  Students will learn the two verb voices, active and passive, and they will practice identifying voice and making changes to a sentence to achieve their desired voice. Students will also maintain a clear and consistent voice in their writing.
