This resource teaches students the necessary components of a good beginning and helps students learn how to use details in their narrative. The lesson is designed to be the first in a series of narrative writing instruction, and to be most effective, students should have prior knowledge of the elements of a narrative plot.  A rubric is provided to give students the opportunity to evaluate their ability to write/understand narratives.
