This art project uses Picasso's Main aux Fleurs (Hands with Flowers) as its inspiration. The focus is on cultural relevance as students do an homage to the original artwork using flesh tones that most closely resemble their own as well as those of their friends. It's also a great SEL lesson because the artwork is meant to portray peace and friendship. Student artists are encouraged to use color and their emotions to make choices in creating their individual artwork.
