Social and Emotional Learning Via The Arts: Mark Rothko Painting

This video - from our series on social and emotional learning (SEL) through the arts - features block painting inspired by the work of Mark Rothko. Students will create a painting, and learn about how different colors can represent different emotions. Students can choose emotions, and create an image that shows them. Identifying emotion and managing it is one of the qualities of social and emotional learning. This is a fun and expressive way to make art that connects to the student's emotion and helps them develop their social and emotional skills.
