This video - the first in our series on social and emotional learning (SEL) through the arts - features mask making using paper collage. Students will create a mask that displays a given emotion using the elements of shape and color. Working with paper, scissors and glue, students choose an emotion, and create an image that shows it. Identifying emotion and managing it is one of the qualities of social and emotional learning. This is a fun and expressive way to make art that connects to the student's emotion and helps them develop their social and emotional skills.
