PORTS - Columbia State Historic Park

Welcome to Columbia State Historic Park, home to the largest collection of gold rush era buildings in the state!

During the early 1850s, Columbia boosted a large and diverse population of gold seekers from counties around the word. Making it one of the largest and most populous cities in the state.

Today, the remaining buildings, cultural items, artifacts, and large mining pit help to tell the story of those who sacrificed everything to find a fortune.

During this program, your students will learn the monumental impact this global event had on the development of the state.

NOTE: This program is best suited for grades 4th-8th
