China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2018 to 2021 Web Archive

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is part of China’s “One Belt, One Road (OBOR)” initiative. OBOR’s vision encompasses a geographical region that extends from the Baltics in Europe to Southeast Asia and from China to Africa. The focus of CPEC is on a series of energy and infrastructure projects. Through CPEC, Pakistan is situated to become one of the most strategically important countries in the region. CPEC projects are expected to significantly improve trade and economic connectivity between Asia, the Middle East and Europe. This web archive collection provides news and analysis related to the various aspects of CPEC projects, including implications for trade, economics, politics, social and cultural development, infrastructure, communications, education and tourism between the two countries.

Collection Period: February 2018 to December 2021.

Frequency of Collection: The majority of sites in the collection were targeted for capture quarterly, with some targeted for capture monthly.

Languages: Collection material in Chinese, English, and Urdu.

Acquisition Information: Sites have been added incrementally since the project began and will continue to be added as they are identified.
