This collection is about Duke Ellington's biography. Duke Ellington was hailed as "the greatest jazz talent of the last 50 years" in a 1983 issue of Esquire magazine. A prolific composer, Ellington has created more than 2,000 musical compositions, including standards such as "Take the A-Train" and "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)" and the feature film "Black, Brown, and Beige. From 1919 until his death in 1974, Ellington led bands under various names and produced many innovations in the field of jazz, including the "jungle style" of using growls and plungers, and manipulating the human voice as an instrument to produce sounds without words.
