The Life of Jim Henson

“It’s not a museum. It’s not a place of artifacts; it’s a place of ideas “

 – Jeanie Kahnke

James Maury Henson was a man filled with ideas. He created puppetry as we know it today and conceptualized so many timeless characters and shows. Without him, we would have never gotten such gems as The Muppets, Fraggle Rock, Sesame Street, The Dark Crystal, the list is endless as his influence continues to inspire puppeteers and creates to make television and films to this day. In this collection, you'll be able to take a peek at his career through some of his creations, and witness for yourself how they exemplify one of his most famous quotes.

"Simple is good." - Jim Henson

These puppets are not just artifacts, they are symbols that mean something different to everyone who sees them. To puppeteers they represent the birth and foundation of their craft, to viewers they represent their childhood. What do they represent to you?
