Faces & Voices of Czech & Slovak Child Émigrés During the Cold War

This Learning Lab collection was created by Alfredo Eladio Moreno for the summer 2021 Smithsonian Affiliate Digital Learning and Engagement Internship, in partnership with Emerson Collective and the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library, a Smithsonian Affiliate. #SAIntern #Immigration

The collection draws from the oral history project, “Recording Voices & Documenting Memories of Czech & Slovak Americans.” Launching the project in 2009, the National Czech and Slovak Museum & Library aimed to preserve the stories of Czech and Slovak migrants who migrated in the latter half of the 20th century, especially during the Cold War era. In particular, this collection focuses on the oral histories of child émigrés.
