Health during the Civil War

The Civil War is extremely important to American culture's development to the country we know today. The norms of today's society are not the same as the 1800s. Due to America never having a war of this caliber before 1861, most were not prepared for most of the issues thrown their way.  This collection will show the health aspect of the Civil War that involves misconceptions of this time period and technology ( not just computers) before the major advancements and knowledge we possess today. 

Displayed in the collection will be the treacherous conditions caused by the lack of knowledge and resources associated with healthcare during this time and lifestyles several soldiers lived during the deadliest war in American history til this day with 618,222 causalities.
