The theme for this collection is intersectional feminism and the environment. Meaning there is an emphasis in the art on equality for all of humanity and recognizing the individuality of all people and honoring these differences through feminist art. As well as, looking at how the earth and environment impact us, and how we impact the earth. We call the Earth, Mother Nature for a reason, but the idea of women being innately connected to Nature has been used as a method to devalue or insult femininity in the past. There is beauty and power in depicting humanities' environmental impacts and I want to tie in the beauty of intersectional feminism along with that. There is feminine and masculine embodied within all humans, and I want to bring awareness to that by reclaiming the feminine and healing our Earth through that process. The title image was created to tie all of these ideas together, and then I assembled 5 other pieces that tie in ideas of the intersectional feminism and the environment.
