Alaska: A Story of Subsistence, Conservation, and Changing Climate
This Learning Lab seeks to provide insight into the unique, diverse environment of Alaska and the threats this landscape faces. This collection uses historic photographs, Alaska Native material culture, and art from the Anchorage Museum’s Collections and is meant to supplement climate education, awareness, and action. Use the images, graphics, and descriptions to explore the Alaskan landscape through the lens of nature, the people, and the past. The Anchorage Museum Photo Archive Numbers/Object Numbers are in the annotations.
This Learning Lab collection was created by May Zhou in the summer 2021 Smithsonian Affiliate Digital Learning and Engagement Internship, in partnership with Emerson Collective and Anchorage Museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate. #SAintern #RaceAndSocialJustice #CommunityHealth #VaccineEducation #ClimateChange #Immigration #ChangingAmericanNarrative
