Unearthing Stories from the Arctic: Black Mariners in Hudson Bay

How do some stories become history? This Learning Lab collection explores questions of historiography through the lens of Black Mariners aboard a whaling ship in Hudson Bay in 1897.

This Learning Lab collection was created by Hazel Richards in the summer 2021 Smithsonian Affiliate Digital Learning and Engagement Internship, in partnership with Emerson Collective and Mystic Seaport Museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate.
