American Inventions Before and During the Industrial Revolution

This collection contains images and information regarding inventions that were created in America during the time period from 1752 to 1837 and have provided some form of growth and impact on the country. The first American Industrial Revolution began in 1790 and lasted until 1870, and was a big transition from goods being made by hand to the creation of machines that could produce goods on a grander scale. Not only were goods being produced more efficiently, but new technology also improved communication and transportation of these goods/ideas as well. The inventions shown below (in chronological order), had a major impact on the newly formed America at the time, and they have also been a foundation for many inventions that have come later on in history, as well as in modern-day America. It is also interesting because not only were these inventions revolutionary by themselves, but some of them were even dependent on one-another in some shape or form, and they all play a key role in the development of Industrial America.
