Paintings Associated with the Consumer Revolution

This collection gives the idea of the choices that early Americans made throughout their day to day lives. The choices that were influenced by the Anglicans and favored by the Americans. Paintings became an important part of the lives of these Americans, representing themselves through the art by another individual which for an artist is a tedious task. These pieces of art proved to prove more than just a picture but they spoke words and expressed an individual's political view at the time.

Further throughout the collection the divide in wealth and social inequality becomes clear during this time in history. The demand for imported goods increased and so did the need to present that style through art.
