This collection seeks to combine sources such as music and photographs to diversify the view points in a US History classroom covering the Great Depression. Through reflective and analytical questions to go along with the sources, students will be asked to consider how songs and paintings help to combat the single-story of different communities in America. The focus is on a few points of views (not extensive) from Black artists, specifically Blues Artists, Mexican-Americans and Mexicans’ experiences told through folk music, and the presence of Gay individuals in performance art that combats the exclusion of LGBTQ's communities existence in history before the late 1900s.
