This collection is part of a larger unit in which students watch The Miracle Worker, learn about DeafBlind culture and norms, and engage in sensory activities. One of the sensory activities is experiencing tactile signing and comparing what it would have looked like during Keller's time in history and how it is different now.

Students will complete a close reading of each image individually, followed by the teacher providing context for the image and then engage in a discussion of what story the images tell together as a whole collection.
