African American Representation on U.S. Postage Stamps

This collection presents the history of African American representation on U.S. postage stamps. By examining African American representation on stamps, we can learn about important figures, major events, and culture from African American history, while also learning more about postal history. This collection does not include every stamp related to African American representation, but it does include a wide range of examples, from civil rights history to art and athletics. Additional information can be found at links attached at the end of the collection.

Information about individual stamps can be found under each resource's information button and image hotspots. The information in this Learning Lab collection has been compiled into fewer resources, but can easily be accessed using these features.
