Since 2019, staff from Smithsonian Affiliations, Conservation Biology Institute and Conservation Commons have partnered in an effort to catalyze community-focused environmental action and leadership by youth in communities across the United States. Partnering with Smithsonian Affiliate organizations in 18 cities, the pedagogical model outlined here presents successful highlights and lessons learned from prototypes in communities large and small, urban and rural, and with local ecosystems of community partners.
