Becoming a Historian: Change and Continuity

Becoming a Historian: Change and Continuity
Historical thinking skills allow historians to better practice and interpret history. This series teaches students how to develop these skills to become better historians themselves.
This Learning Lab will guide students through the process of defining change and continuity and practicing employing strategies from examples dealing with African Americans in the military, primarily during the Civil War and the Second World War.
Change and continuity informs how and why a historical individual, group, event or idea change or remains the same (continuity) over time. Change and continuity is important because it allows historians to better understand history through the impact that a continuity or change had on a historical individual, group, event, or idea in the past and the present.
