Indigenous Futures

Indigenous Futures centers on two contemporary Indigenous women artists with historically informed and future-facing artistic practices. Gail Tremblay and Martine Gutierrez use different mediums and cultural heritages for similar end goals of combatting misrepresentation through self-definition. These materials are intended to be not only informative but empowering for young people, especially those with marginalized identities. While perusing the material, be sure to click on the paper clip symbol on the right side of the resource. There you will find helpful contextual information, probing questions, and opportunities to see the artists.
