Many people think that card games like poker are "macho," the domain of men. However, card games can be a place for women to up the ante. This collection includes two major components: 
1) Photographs, illustrations, and paintings of women who *play* cards and make a space for themselves at the game table. 
2) Artistic adaptations of queens on different suite cards. These queen cards from different time periods and cultures can provide us with important insights about changing beauty norms, gender norms, and concepts of women in roles of power.
