Students will explore the things and people that are important to them with a focus on their families.

This will be a part of their service-learning project. The students are fourth grade English Learner students. They have an activity where they interview a family member about the history of their name. After that they explore the things and people that are important to them. Students will read an excerpt of a text called "Family Picture" then explore this collection.
