William Randolph Hearst was a gracious and generous host at his estate located in San Simeon, California. He called it The Ranch, San Simeon, or La Cuesta Encantada. Today it is a California State Park, and it is known to us as Hearst Castle. He invited Famous guests that included scientists, writers, politicians, sports figures, and the famous Hollywood crowd to his estate. It was really something to be invited to his property in San Simeon. Guests rarely turned down the opportunity if they were invited.
