Frank Sinatra's Musical Genius, Part I, the Skinny Years, 1930s - 1940s

This collection provides a chronology of Frank Sinatra's musical life and the influences that shaped his career. There are three stages: Skinny Years, Hat Years, and Tux Years, all based on Will Friedwald's book entitled Sinatra! The Song is You and other references, which have been cited.

You'll also discover some additional facts. Many people are unaware that Sinatra spoke up against racism, bigotry and antisemitism in an era when people accepted those behaviors.

Update: presently, parts II and III are being edited and should be posted at the end of March 2024.

Quizzes, video, and audio files are included to provide a greater understanding of Frank Sinatra's musical talents. #SmithsonianMusic
