Taking Civic Action with Zines | Cultivating Learning
This collection is a digital companion to Taking Civic Action with Zines, a Cultivating Learning professional development session with Eden Cho, an Education Technologist at the National Museum of American History. The session aims to help educators incorporate museum objects and art skills to engage their students civically.
In this session, Eden shares techniques honed from the museum's annual National Youth Summit, a program that brings together secondary students to participate in a national conversation about important events in America’s past that have relevance to the nation’s present and future. Included here are resources and strategies to incorporate museum objects in the classroom, create zines, and encourage students to engage in civic action.
This interactive webinar is part of “Cultivating Learning,” a professional development webinar series focusing on techniques to use digital museum resources for learning. Check out “Cultivating Learning” and other Smithsonian Learning Lab webinars.
