In 2017, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival celebrated its 50th anniversary. The main program for this Festival was the Circus Arts, with a smaller program on migration and immigration. During the second weekend of the Festival, July 8-9, 2017, the migration-themed space was used for a Reunion weekend which invited former Festival staff back for discussion sessions, and also engaged the public in sharing their favorite Festival memories. The line between "visitor" and "professional documenter/staff" becomes blurred during the event, as even the most seasoned Festival documenters and staff, as well as first-timers, join in expressing their impressions of wonder and delight.  This Learning Lab collection aims to capture some of the energy, fun and reminiscences of the 2017 Festival and Reunion weekend.  The Festival continues to  be an influence in people's lives strong after 50+ years!
