Celebrating Hispanic Identity - Museum Live on Learning Lab!

Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the rich cultural contributions and vibrant heritage of Hispanic communities. This learning lab explores how mixed-media artist Jairo Javier Morales celebrated his Hispanic identity when he graduated college.

This Learning Lab is inspired by the “Collections Connection” segment from Season 4 Episode 2 of Museum Live! This broadcast-style show is live streamed each week during the school year from the Durham Museum in Omaha, Nebraska. The show includes guest speakers, behind-the-scenes looks at museum exhibits and artifacts, community connections, and current events. Learn more about the upcoming season here.

This Learning Lab collection was created by Hana Woolley in the summer of 2024 in collaboration with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, Smithsonian Affiliations, and the Durham Museum.
