AP African American Studies | Teaching with Objects (Updated December 2023)

This Smithsonian Learning Lab collection features digital education resources, including objects and artworks, selected from across the Smithsonian's museum collections. These resources complement the Advanced Placement (AP) African American Studies course, offered by the College Board. As teachers and students advance through the course, these resources provide opportunities for inquiry and discussion of key topics throughout the units. Each resource is aligned to a specific unit and topic within the course outline. (Updated December 2023)

The analysis questions are sourced from the National Archives and Records Administration Document Analysis Worksheets, unless stated otherwise.

The most up-to-date version of this collection can always be accessed at the short URL: https://s.si.edu/APAfricanAmericanStudies.
