1775 Abimeleck Uncus–Carved Powder Horn | ANTIQUES ROADSHOW

Learn about carved powder horns and the information they captured about soldiers’ lives during the Revolutionary War, in this video from ANTIQUES ROADSHOW, arms and militaria expert Christopher Fox provides details about the soldier who carved the horn and explains the significance of the carvings. In 1775, Abimeleck Uncus, a Native American of the Mohegan tribe, joined the patriots to fight against the British. Uncus carved his powder horn while stationed at the “Roxbury Camps,” capturing the image of a fortification built during the Siege of Boston.
