Bacon's Rebellion, Class, and Race | Interactive
In this interactive, students will learn about Bacon’s Rebellion, a major turning point in relations among the inhabitants of the Virginia colony. Students will see how the interactions among the English elite, Powhatans, Susquehannocks, indentured servants, and enslaved people eventually led to a race-based social hierarchy in Virginia, setting the stage for a southern society built on slavery.
