Learn about Internationally-recognized figure carver Harley Refsal, who specializes in the Scandinavian flat-plane style of woodcarving. He was born and raised on a farm near Hoffman, Minnesota, which was homesteaded by his Norwegian-immigrant grandparents, and began working in wood as a young boy. He then went on to live in Norway and teach at Luther college in Decorah, IA.
