Bizarre Arthropod Adaptations | What's Bugging You?

Learn about arthropods. Arthropods are invertebrate animals of the large phylum Arthropoda, such as insects, millipedes, and centipedes, spiders, or crustaceans. This resource introduces the concepts of taxonomy and stimulates wonder and curiosity as it takes students from exploring roly-polies to discovering bizarre arthropod adaptations.

Learning about taxonomy teaches us the relationships among living things. These relationships can be broken down into levels such as Kingdoms, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species. Roly-polies are a part of the animal kingdom and are classified as being part of the phylum called Arthropoda.
