Egypt Excursion: Wyoming Climbers Explore Sinai Peninsula

Three Wyoming climbers travel to Egypt to climb granite mountains in the Sinai Peninsula. The climbers must take into account physical, political, and geographical factors in their planning. The climbers are also exposed to two very different cultures in Egypt. The development of these cultures has been influenced by physical and political geography over thousands of years.

NOTE: Spanish closed captions are also available.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Students will watch video clips from the documentary Egypt Excursion.
  • Students will practice speaking and listening skills.
  • Students will compare and contrast cultural experiences and expectations of the Wyoming climbers in Egypt.
  • Students will analyze the impact of physical and political geography on decision-making.
