Common Ground: Fortuna Alexander | Moving Lives Minnesota

In this special Moving Lives Minnesota episode of Common Ground, we visit the home of immigrant entrepreneur Fortuna Alexander as she prepares an authentic African meal for her extended family. She speaks of her experiences as an immigrant, a business owner, and being connected to many communities. Her business, FAH Tea, sends some proceeds to fund a Liberian orphanage as Fortuna, herself an orphan, gives back while raising her African American sons in Minnesota.

Moving Lives Minnesota: Stories of Origin & Immigration (MLMN) explores the histories of the many communities who have moved through and to Minnesota. MLMN brings Minnesotans together to recognize and honor our similar and different backgrounds and experiences. We hope through this statewide initiative by the PBS stations of Minnesota, story-sharing will build empathy and understanding across our communities.
