Conclusion of the Trip | Bicycle Corps
The arrival of the 25th Infantry in St. Louis was an extravagant event. The soldiers were accompanied into the city by the St. Louis Wheelmen cycling club, and later performed drills and exercises in front of cheering crowds.
Despite the success of the trip, the Lieutenant Moss was ordered to return the bicycles to the A.G. Spalding company and return to Missoula by rail. This marked the end of military interest in the bicycle, as soon after the United States became distracted with the War in Cuba.
