Students will learn what makes an insect an insect, and separate from creatures like spiders or millipedes.  Drawing or creating insects out of natural materials will help students learn new vocbulary words and the anatomical characteristics that set insects apart. Insects will be investigated by collecting what can be found on school grounds, or in nearby habitats dominated by native vegetation.
