Watersheds | Nature WY

Students will learn about watersheds, with extension activities investigating the behavior of watersheds and the direct connection to the watersheds in which the students live. They will create a paper model of a watershed to investigate the movement of water, with the opportunity to explore change and behavior, and to make predictions, as they replicate and alter that original model.

Note: Spanish closed captions are also available.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Students will create a paper-mountain watershed and predict the movement of water within that model as water is sprayed onto high points.
  • Students will gain a better understanding of watersheds, the way they function, and be able to identify features of the watershed in which they live.
