Origins of the Korean War | Iowans in Korea

Between the magnitude and visibility of World War II and the heartbreak and scorn of the Vietnam War was the Korean War. Nearly 1.8 million Americans served in Korea during the three years that made up the shooting war. More than 33,000 lost their lives in battle.
