Restoring the River: Full Episode | Tending Nature

This resource follows the Yurok, Karuk, and Hupa people of the Klamath River Basin in Northern California as they work with other groups to address the declining salmon population and an unhealthy river, which supports Native peoples, other communities, and ecosystems in the area. 

This lesson is the FULL 26 minute EPISODE. It explores the ecosystems of the Klamath River Basin, the problems caused by an unhealthy river system, and the collaborative efforts by tribes, government agencies, and non-profit groups.

This science lesson is designed for middle school grades, is centered around the full Restoring the River episode and is aligned with Next Generation Science Standards for middle school Life or Environmental Sciences.
