America, Our Country Lesson Plan | ARTHUR

In these episodes from the PBS KIDS series ARTHUR, students examine the United States of America—the reasons it was founded, its citizens, and the symbols that represent its values. Students explore why new countries are founded and examine things that make them unique, such as the people who live there. Students consider what it means to be an American while preserving their own racial or ethnic identities and heritage. They explore the idea that the United States of America is a diverse country that welcomes immigrants and celebrates multiculturalism while preserving customs, holidays, and traditions that are uniquely American.
