In this lesson, students consider friendship—who their friends are, what makes someone a friend, and objects that are used to symbolize friendship. After watching video excerpts from the PBS KIDS series PINKALICIOUS & PETERRIFIC®, students use colorful string to create friendship bracelets. They listen to a book about two friends who knit gifts for each other, and then they use a simple cardboard loom to weave strings into friendship bracelets. Finally, they make plans to give their bracelets to a special friend.
