Never Quit: A Wyoming Marine's Story | Our Wyoming
Lifelong Wyoming resident and WWII veteran Tom Guthrie shares his experience of being deployed to the Pacific from 1943 to 1945.
Students will gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a US citizen. They will understand from a first-hand perspective the commitment of a US veteran and the feelings a veteran goes through when faced with war. Geography related to WWII will also be examined.

LESSON OBJECTIVES:
- Students will examine the roles and responsibilities of citizens.
- Students will develop and understand the commitment required to ensure freedom and democracy.
- Students will explore the goegraphy of the conflit in the Pacific Ocean and how it helped determine the outcome of the war.
- Students will use a 1st person perspective, primary source, to generate a historically accurate summary of the events and how the people involved felt about theri duties and responsibilities.
