West Virginia Artist Repurposes Flea Market Finds | Inside Appalachia Folkways

This lesson incorporates the Folkways recording highlighting a West Virginia artist, Robert Villamagna, who frequents flea markets to find materials to repurpose and reuse. The artist takes the materials and makes art from them. Students will use this for inspiration. They will bring recyclables or items that can be reused from home and will learn to sort and classify materials. Students will then use the materials to create a group sculpture.
