Highlight Reel | Episode 1 | Tools for Anti-Racist Teaching

PBS Early Learning Champion Roshanna Beard shares clips from Episode 1 of PBS’ Tools for Anti-Racist Teaching, a virtual professional learning series for educators. In the highlights, professor and author Dr. Bettina Love describes the extent to which systemic racism is embedded in everyday life, disadvantaging Black, Indigenous, and people of color and resulting in “spirit murdering” of Black and brown students. Language Arts educator Julia Torres further describes systemic racism in schools and states the necessity of using the language and vocabulary of racism in order to dismantle it.
